Explore the Atlas
ATLAS is built around countries. Each one with election data has the same five pages, so once you know one country, you know them all. Here's what's on each, with Portugal as the example.
A country's pages
Overview
Start hereThe country at a glance: a map coloured by our projection or by the last election, the parliament it gives, who governs, and when the next election is. The switch at the top changes between projection and last election.
Portugal's overviewElections
Every election we have, on the map. Pick a year, click a district to see its result, then click again to go down to its smallest areas. The 1st, 2nd… buttons colour the map by the winner, the runner-up and so on.
Portugal's electionsProjection
Our polling average and the seats it would give, how it moved over time, and every poll behind it. Any poll or the projection can be downloaded as an image to share.
Portugal's projectionSimulator
Type your own national shares and see the parliament they'd elect, district by district, using the country's real rules. Start from the last election or from our projection.
Portugal's simulatorParties
Every party: what it stands for, its results over time, and which parties form the government now.

Small things worth knowing
Pointing at anything (a district, a seat, a party in a list, a line in a chart) shows its numbers. In the parliament diagrams, pointing at a party in the list lights up its seats, and the other way round.
Bright or dark: the site has both. Switch under Settings, at the top right.
Colours follow each party's own, lightened or darkened just enough to read well on either background.
